That time of the year...
No, I'm not talking about the holidays (yet).
It is time once again for Ang INK's Annual Exhibit. This year is our 21st. Please come and see the Inkies' take on the Filipino sawikain (idioms). "Mabubulaklak na Dila" opens tomorrow, 5pm at the Canvas Gallery & Gardens, Alpha Village, Diliman, Quezon City. Hope to see you there!

For the Animals
click to know more about the Pet Project |
I'm part of this art exhibit/ fundraising event for the benefit of CARA Welfare Philippines- a non-profit, non-government organization devoted to the welfare of cats and dogs.
A little while ago, when I was asked if I wanted to be part of this event, I didn't think twice. I said yes faster than my fingers can type the word YES.
I have two artworks for sale that you can check out here.
This event will be on November 17, 2012 at White Space, Pasong Tamo Extension, Makati.

This is why
So. Yes. Finally, a new post.
I've been making quite a lot for the past two months, and I am very grateful for it. (more jobs-- yay!)
That includes, naturally, some newness...
some familiarity...
some triumphs & accidents...
and of course, a lot of color!
Admittedly, I could've posted little somethings here and there, but there are times when I just feel like blogging is such a chore. I guess that makes me an irregular blogger.
Whatever the case, here I am, blogging again. Happy Monday!

Pretty Crafty
Last Saturday, I attended Alessa's Craft Soiree right before going to the INK meeting. I was half-hoping to run into someone I knew there, but didn't really expect to actually find one. So imagine my delight when I saw two: Fran & Jamie!
Now, on to the crafting business...
Some shots from our table (I wasn't able to take shots of everyone because I was too busy gawking)
The bulletin board was filled with hand-crafted goodness

Alessa giving out her stickers, and this girl (Dan from group 3) gave out shirts!
My own contribution:
my business card (back side) |
And finally, my loot:
1 Crocheted bracelet by Jenni 2 Wire accessory by Maan 3 Accessories by Roma 4 Tote bag & stickers by Alessa 5 Polymer clay trinkets by April 6 Coasters by Ella 7 Postcards & stickers by Mansy 8 Calligraphy card by Fozzy 9 Plush doll by Imana
Some of the goodies came in thoughtful little packages:
I couldn't bear to throw these away because a) So much time/ effort/ love went into making these, and b) Recycling is always good, so I'll be using them for a collage project soon. :D

Glorious Sun
Yesterday, after days of rains and flood, the sun finally appeared. I couldn't have been more grateful.

The INK Advantage
Being an Inkie has loads of advantages. For one thing, when an important person in your life has a birthday coming up (preferably on a Saturday) and you want to do something special for him/ her (say, posting a special greeting in the newspaper), you can choose to do so. So I turned in my INK corner/personalized birthday card last week and waited for Saturday to come.
And, voila!
I was also pleasantly surprised to see it so big in the paper!
P.S.: This may also count as the Monday Inspiration post.

Inspiration / 4
I braved the rains yesterday and embarked on a solo mini-adventure to go to the extended opening of Takatak Attack at 10A Alabama, brought to us by the Takatak Project. The taka is a papier mache toy horse and a classical folk icon in the town of Paete, Laguna.
On this note, here is this week's Inspiration creation, which also happen to be my pieces for the exhibit:
It was so interesting to see so many different-sized horses in one place. Here are some photos I took, plus some of my personal favorites:
The exhibit runs for two more weeks. Drop by if you can!

Exhibit x 2
I am part of 2 exhibits that happen to fall on the same day:
This is why teleportation needs to be possible. This also explains my lack of posts lately.
I hope & pray for better tomorrow!
